You’ve probably heard of self-cleaning ovens. Now, Blomberg has unveiled a self-cleaning dishwasher.

If you’ve ever encountered a funky odor when you open your dishwasher, you’ll know that today’s dishwashers just don’t use enough water to get themselves odor-free between cycles. Modern dishwashers also require users to clean out filters, which can get messy and gross.

Sure, you can scrub the inside of your dishwasher yourself, but why should you have to? That’s why the Blomberg DWT59500SS (MSRP $999) offers two options to make sure that your dishwasher is as clean as your dishes.

The ProCare cycle is designed to run when the dishwasher is empty, cleaning the dishwasher’s interior to avoid odors. It heats water up to 167 degrees Fahrenheit, and sprays regular detergent on the dishwasher’s walls and racks to blast off any leftover dirt and grime.

There's also a self-cleaning filter inside the machine that works kind of like a garbage disposal. Turn it on, and it will wash and grind away any particles stuck inside the filtration system. If something really big gets caught in there, you can still take the filter apart and clean it by hand.

In addition, the DWT59500SS has a unique half-size third rack that still offers room for tall items like champagne glasses, as well as a quiet sound rating of just 42 dBA. It goes on sale later this year, part of a lineup of new Blomberg dishwashers that start at just $549.
